Damovo enables Duesseldorf, the capital of North Rhine Westphalia, to offer free Internet to its citizens and guests

Düsseldorf, 01.07.2019 – Damovo, one of the leading providers of solutions and services for corporate communications, now enables citizens and guests of the capital of Nort Rhine Westphalia Düsseldorf to access the Internet free of charge at 45 locations.

Hotspot.duesseldorf is now available in the foyer of the City Hall, and also in cultural institutions such as the Aquazoo and the City Museum. Access will be extended to over 100 locations in the coming weeks.

The successful networking of locations across the municipal infrastructure has been a kay factor in this project. The WLAN service can be operated quickly, securely and economically, and can be expanded if required.

Klemens Görgen, Sales Director Region West: "Damovo has its German headquarters in Düsseldorf, so we are very proud to be able to support the capital in the process of digitisation. Access to the Internet is the basis for all digitised offers and services in the city. We have brought the network to places where advanced administration services and interactive multimedia programs bring great added value."

Prof. Dr. Andreas Meyer-Falke, Deputy for Personnel, Organisation, IT, Health and Citizen Services: "With the help of Damovo, we have added our own access points to the existing Public WLAN offering in heavily frequented urban facilities. With hotspot.duesseldorf, people can use their mobile devices to access services in citizen's offices, offices and museums."
