Damovo drives forward European growth strategy with acquisition of Swiss-based Voice & Data Network AG

  • Damovo increases business footprint in Switzerland
  • Avaya capability bolstered across entire group
  • Acquisition provides opportunity for further expansion into Austria

2nd June 2017 – Damovo has expanded its European operation following the acquisition of Switzerland-based voice and data provider Voice & Data Network AG (“Vodanet”) for an undisclosed fee. The acquisition enables Damovo, a leading provider of enterprise communications solutions and services across Europe, to bolster its Avaya capabilities, while also adding the experience and expertise of the Zurich-headquartered Vodanet team to its business.

Following the 2016 acquisition of Netfarmers, this latest move is further evidence of the company’s ‘buy and build’ strategy, demonstrating Damovo’s intent to become the leading UC provider in Europe.

As a significant Avaya partner in Switzerland, Vodanet offers the full Avaya portfolio – including its own cloud based offering. The acquisition will both triple Damovo’s footprint in the Swiss market, and also further enhance the company’s Avaya support capability across Europe.

Glen Williams, CEO of Damovo, said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Vodanet. This business complements and strengthens our existing portfolio and positions Damovo for further growth. We are very excited of the opportunities both within Switzerland, and across the Group that this acquisition brings.

Carl Muehlner, Managing Director at Damovo for the Central Europe region, said: “We already have built a strong Mitel business in Switzerland under the leadership of Claudio Donnaianna and the acquisition of Vodanet strengthens our position as a voice and data specialist. There are very few Avaya partners that have built their own cloud platform, so the experience and the expertise that Vodanet brings in this area will be invaluable as we look to accelerate our growth. With Vodanet’s digital skills and Damovo’s multi-lingual support we not only have a strong foundation to grow our business in the Swiss region, but also the potential to expand our footprint into the Austrian market.”

Roger Peter, MD Vodanet AG commented: “We are delighted to be joining the Damovo team and are very excited about the future. We have a growing base of customers who are looking for an international partner who can support their Avaya technology estate and with Damovo we can now do this.

Patrik Spörri, at Avaya said: “Today’s announcement is further evidence of Damovo’s commitment to Avaya. It demonstrates their ambition to further develop their Avaya capabilities and to become one of our largest partners in Switzerland and mainland Europe.
